The fire department participates in many events in the community. Such events include the annual Soap Box Derby, Little League, Halloween events, Memorial Day ceremonies and our very popular Christmas in the Place of Nettles. In addition to these events, we also support many non-profit organizations with help at various times and even financial contributions to some.
Even these efforts do not stop us from doing more. We have held numerous training sessions where we have invited the public to attend. Such topics as CPR, First Aid, driversafety and other things have proven to be useful in our community. Many of these programs are put on by and in co-ordination with our public education committee. We look at each event as its own opportunity to change. Even during our annual Santa visit, we collect food that is collected for those in need.
